iPads at Central York

Overview

• This site is intended to collect information about our experiences with iPads at Central
• We have been using iPads since 2010 at all grade levels - K-12
• During 2011-12, the Middle School and High School each had two pilot teachers - one cart of iPads per classroom.
• Currently some iPads are available for general use - many students use them, and other iPads are assigned to individual students (9th grade iPad Pilot)
• The site also includes information collected while planning for a 1:1 deployment of iPads for the 9th grade
• During 2013-14, we have two grade levels (9th and 10th) using iPads. See Year 2 for additional Information.

Preliminary Research

• Note that the following pages are taken from notes written as we planned for the iPads. The information was current at that time, but it is constantly changing! iOS 6 arrived during this process so some notes are before this time, some are later. Please confirm that any information you use is still accurate. With the advent of iOS 7, management options have changed even more.
